Pingxie Exchange 2025: Schedule and Guidelines Post

Hi and welcome to the Pingxie Exchange: a fic, art, and fanvid exchange about the Wu Xie/Zhang Qiling pairing.

In this exchange, participants will be anonymously matched to create gifts for one another during a five week creation period. The gifts will be revealed on August 17th: the day Wu Xie welcomed Xiaoge back after his 10-year-long absence behind the Bronze Gate.

This exchange is open to all the DMBJ canons (adaptations featuring Wu Xie or Xiaoge and the original novels). It will take place on AO3, so you need an AO3 account to participate--if you don’t have one, you can request it here; if there isn’t enough time, no worries - contact the mods at pingxie-exchange@hotmail.com, on DreamWidth, or on tumblr, and we can send you an invitation!

Good news!

Everyone officially has at least one gift, so the exchange collection is all ready to open on time tomorrow! Most likely this will happen circa 10 AM EDT... or when I wake up. Whichever comes later. XD

(And let me tell you, I've been skimming the gifts for DNWs as they come in and I'm super excited to get to enjoy them fully and properly. You all did wonderful work and you should be proud! :D)

Treats

You can find the request summary here on AO3.

Treats can be made all the way up until the creator reveal date on August 24th, so you still have a week if you want to make one. Just make sure to make the gift part of the collection (so it will stay anonymous until the creator reveal) and gift it to the appropriate person.

Treats do not have to follow the minimum requirements and can include edits, playlists, etc., but they must still abide by the recipient's DNWs.

My how time flies!

The deadline approaches

Gifts are due in about two days. (August 10th 11:59 PM Anywhere On Earth (what time is it for me?))

If you don't think you're going to make the deadline, please let me know as soon as you can so we can discuss an extension or find a pinch hitter for your assignment.

Anyone who has not reached out to me in some way by the time the deadline hits, your assignment will automatically default and go to the pinch hit list.

If you will be finished apart from editing, then that's fine. You can continue to edit and tweak your gifts until the reveal date on August 17th.

Treats

If you are finished with your gifts, you might consider creating treats for other recipients!

You can find the request summary here on AO3.

Treats can be written all the way up until the author reveal date on August 24th, so you have plenty of time. Just make sure to make the gift part of the collection (so it will stay anonymous until the author reveal) and gift it to the appropriate person.

Please check the email address attached to the AO3 account you signed up with. If you have not received an email, you can look on AO3 under “Assignments” in your dashboard to find your assignment. If you do not find your assignment in either place, please contact the mods as soon as possible.

We will reveal the requests summary sometime early next week so that you may begin planning treats, as well, if you would like to.

Matching is scheduled to run from now until July 5th, with assignments going out no later than July 6th. Keep an eye on your email!

Once matching is completed and everyone has had some time to plan for their assignments, the requests summary will be made visible to everyone on AO3 for treating purposes.
